Our Statement of Faith is a summary of core beliefs that define a Christian’s or a church’s doctrinal position. It serves as a foundation for teaching, worship, and practice. Below are our traditional Christian Statement of Faith, supported by Scripture:
The Bible – The Word of God
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. It was written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17) – “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
(2 Peter 1:21) – “For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”
Jesus Christ – Fully God and Fully Man
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who became fully human while remaining fully divine. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will return in glory.
(John 1:1, 14) – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”
(Philippians 2:5-8) – Christ Jesus, “Who being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.”
(1 Corinthians 15:3-4) – “Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day.”
Salvation – By Grace Through Faith
We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is not earned through good works but is a free gift from God. Those who repent and trust in Jesus Christ receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
(Ephesians 2:8-9) – “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
(Romans 10:9) – “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
(John 3:16) – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
The Holy Spirit – Our Helper and Guide
We believe that the Holy Spirit is God’s Spirit, the very presence and power of God who convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, and dwells within them. He guides, teaches, and empowers Christians for holy living and service (Acts 1:8; Romans 8:26-27).
(John 14:26) – Jesus said, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”
(Romans 8:9) – “Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.”
(Galatians 5:22-23) – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.”
The Church – The Body of Christ
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all true believers. The Church exists to glorify God, preach the Gospel, and make disciples.
(Ephesians 4:4-6) – “There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all.”
(Matthew 16:18) – “I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
(Hebrews 10:25) – “Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another.”
The Return of Christ – The Blessed Hope
We believe that Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to establish His kingdom and judge the living and the dead.
(Revelation 22:12) – “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done.”
(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) – “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God.”
(Matthew 24:30) – “Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man… and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”
Heaven and Hell – Eternal Destinies
We believe in the resurrection of the dead and that all people will spend eternity either in heaven or hell. Those who trust in Christ will enjoy eternal life with God, while those who reject Him will face eternal separation.
(John 5:28-29) – “An hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.”
(Revelation 20:15) – “If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”
(Matthew 25:46) – “And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
Marriage and Human Sexuality
We believe that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, instituted by God. Sexual relations are reserved for marriage, and all forms of sexual immorality are sinful.
(Genesis 2:24) – “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and be united to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”
(Matthew 19:4-5) – “He who created them from the beginning made them male and female.”
The Great Commission – Our Mission
We believe that Christ commands His followers to share the Gospel and make disciples of all nations.
(Matthew 28:19-20) – “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
(Acts 1:8) – “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses.”
