The Most Important Decision
Welcome, to Inward Change Ministries. Today, we’re going to talk about the most important decision any person can ever make—the decision that determines not just how we live today, but where we will spend eternity. That decision is about salvation—being rescued from sin and brought into a right relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that every one of us has a problem that no amount of good works, religion, or moral effort can fix. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”— (Romans 3:23).
Sin isn’t just doing bad things—it’s rebellion against God’s authority. It’s choosing our own way instead of His. And the consequence of sin is serious: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — (Romans 6:23). Death here means more than physical death—it means eternal separation from God. That’s the bad news. But the good news is that God didn’t leave us there. God’s love for us is so great that He made a way for us to be forgiven and restored. “But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — (Romans 5:8).
Jesus, the Son of God, lived a perfect life and willingly took our punishment on the cross. When He died, He paid the price for our sins. When He rose from the dead, He conquered death itself. Salvation isn’t about what we can do—it’s about what He has already done. Salvation is a gift, but it must be received personally. We receive it by turning away from sin and trusting in Jesus alone. “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” — (Romans 10:9).
This is not just saying words—it’s surrendering your life to Christ as Lord. It’s a change of heart, an Inward Change that leads to a change of life. When we come to Christ, everything changes. We are forgiven, made new, and given eternal life. “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; meaning the old person, the old self, the old you, and behold, the new has come!” Meaning that, you become a new person on the inside, Inward Change — (2 Corinthians 5:17). Our life story is rewritten by the Author of salvation Himself, Jesus Christ.
I once read in a magazine’s article, that new information has the power to change our story—but the gospel of Jesus Christ changes it completely. The moment we understand who Jesus is and what He has done, our entire narrative—past, present, and future—is transformed by His grace. Today, if you realize that you’ve been living apart from God, know this—He loves you deeply and is calling you to Himself. You don’t have to clean yourself up first. You come as you are, and He will make you new. If you’re ready to turn from sin and trust in Jesus, you can do that right now.
Speak to Him from your heart. Tell Him you believe He died for your sins and rose again. Ask Him to forgive you and take control of your life. Salvation is not the end of your story—it’s the beginning of a brand-new one. God will walk with you, strengthen you, and use your life to tell His story of grace to others. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.” — (Ephesians 2:8–9).
